Harvesting Beyond the Salinas Valley
Once Royal Rose finishes its Salinas growing season in late winter, growing operations then move to Florida. Fresh radicchio, grown in Florida, February through March allows Royal Rose to deliver product to the U.S. market some three to four weeks fresher than product from domestic storage programs or from imported product. Growing radicchio in Florida, as well as in multiple western state districts, has allowed Royal Rose to eliminate storage programs.
However, since weather can play a role in overall supply, Royal Rose makes sure it can cover orders with product from Chili and Italy. Working closely with these growers Royal Rose ensures a consistant supply and the best available quality year-round.
